After killing Cho’gall, we decided that Al’Akir would be an easier target than Nef. Turns out we were right. We one-shot Cho’gall to start the night off on a good note, then spent a few hours playing with Al’Akir. It was a pretty messy kill, with people dying to his lightning web in phase 3, but we killed him … and promptly sharded his loot. That’s pretty much the way our Throne of the Four Winds runs have gone, honestly. I think we’ve had a bid on one piece out of six.

Next stop is Nef, and I mean that for real this time.

We went back into Bastion of Twilight tonight and put in a lot of work on Cho’gall. A lot more than I would have liked, actually – had some failure at Corrupted Blood and some trouble with adds running rampant. We finally got a good series of attempts towards the end, took care of the tentacles, and killed Cho’gall pretty easily once the tentacles died consistently.

Time to move on to Nef. Because we haven’t killed him enough in BWL already.

We stepped into the Throne of the Four Winds for the first time tonight. Honestly, we spent more time explaining Conclave than actually fighting them, I think. We one-shot them despite some issues with Anshal healing a lot, and got the requisite shit loot – dps plate and healing leather, yay offspec random loot.

After that, we went back to Bastion of Twilight to play with Cho’gall some more. We got him down to about 10-15% a couple times, but we still need to clean up the tentacles before a kill is likely. That said, I don’t see any reason why he should still be alive after tomorrow night. We should be able to claim our first piece of non-points tier loot tomorrow, which would be nice.

We cleared up to Chimaeron yesterday and played around with him for a bit. Once we got the healing down during Feud, we pushed him into the berserk phase pretty easily. After that, well, pay no attention to the bodies behind the curtain. We killed him the first time we got to that phase, but it was a near thing. Evasion and Deterrence save the day. Brings back memories of early Vael kills, actually. Good times.

We spent part of the last two days working on these guys. A couple of sub-1M hp wipes proved an exercise in frustration; it took a little while to process the idea of staying alive. We won’t mention any names, Cele. Anyway, we came back tonight and killed them after a renewed introduction, then spent some time working on Cho’gall. That looks like a fun fight; hopefully it won’t prove to be a complete pushover.
